Laurence and Kit had an absolutely beautiful, unique pub wedding at The Bell in Ticehurst! I am honoured they asked me to photograph their special day. It was a pleasure to be a part of. The Bell is a really cool and quirky pub & hotel in Kent. It is such a unique and beautiful place to get married. It’s also really rustic and cosy, with lots of open fires, comfy sofas and hearty delicious food.

Laurence and Kit both got ready at The Bell and began the day unwrapping some presents that they had both got for one another. They had both bought each other some art work – great minds think alike! Laurence got ready with some of his close friends, who were also bridesmaids and dressed in a gorgeous dusky pink colour. We had loads of fun together throughout the morning! I also popped upstairs to see Kit and grab a few snaps of him getting ready. They both looked really cool and very dapper in their velvet tuxedo jackets which were by Dandylion Style. Laurence wore a dark green and Kit wore a burgundy and both colours complimented each other so well!

The Ceremony
The main room at The Bell is really cool and again quite unique, with this really funky wallpaper and there were some gorgeous flowers by Laurence and Kit’s friend, who actually runs a gorgeous floristry business at Lula Lula. Her work is so stunning! Laurence and Kit wanted the day to be really relaxed – they decided to walk down the aisle with their Mum’s which was so special. Kit walked down first and then waited for Laurence to come down. It was a really emotional and beautiful entrance. The ceremony itself was really really special and felt very personal to both Laurence and Kit. There were some really funny and sweet moments, along with some beautiful readings and also lots of tissues dabbing at eyes!

A traditional confetti throw
A tradition at The Bell’s Unique Pub Wedding is for the couple to do their confetti downstairs in the stable bar on the red carpet walking across the tables, and then ring the bell together at the end – really cool! It was a dry and warm day so we had the opportunity to have drinks and photos in the gardens. It gave me so many lovely moments to capture. There was also the most brilliant looking car, which I’m pretty sure was Kit’s Dad’s car. We had a little drive around in that and got a few photos in the countryside nearby. I really, really love those photos of Laurence and Kit with the car. They both look so happy!

A Transformation for dinner
Whilst we were capturing photos In the garden the upstairs room was being transformed for dinner. All of the beautiful table decor and long burning candles were from To Have and To Hire Events. There was also some cool signage with the welcome sign and table plan which was by Ollie Stone. The cake looked so delicious and really autumnal with lots of gorgeous orange colours involved. The cake toppers were also super cute!

After Dinner speeches
After dinner everybody moved to the stable bar for a handful of speeches. And wow what speeches they were! They were all so funny, so sweet and it was wonderful to hear more about Laurence and Kit’s journey. I also really liked that the speeches were downstairs and people could either choose to sit down or stand up. It’s really nice to see speeches done in a slightly different way. It was also cool because it was in front of the famous ‘I will always love you’ neon sign they have at The Bell.
They also had the fantastic magician Stephen Simmons to entertain everyone in the early evening, who was just absolutely brilliant. So many great reactions and I genuinely could not get over some of his magic. My jaw was constantly dropping open! I really love magicians at weddings and think they’re such good entertainment.

The party was so much fun and the awesome music was provided by the band Riptide, who really got the party going as I’m sure you’ll see from the photos. I loved that there was also a special guest appearance from a doggo friend on the dancefloor haha! It was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Thank you so much to Laurence and Kit for entrusting me to capture their Unique Pub Wedding, it was wonderful to be a part of.
