Natalie and Luke had a beautiful Merriscourt wedding in the Cotswolds. They had been waiting for their wedding for such a long time as they were originally due to get married in 2020. But wow it was so worth the wait. It was my first time at Merriscourt wedding venue and it was such a stunning place. I hope I get to go back. Both Natalie and Luke got ready on site so I managed to pop by and see both of them. The girls got ready in the cottage and had their hair and make-up done by Mach Management. At the same time as chatting and admiring the beautiful flowers from Flowers by Kirsty.
Getting ready for their Merriscourt wedding in The Cotswolds
When I popped over to see Luke, he opened up a card from Natalie which was really lovely. The ceremony room at Merriscourt is absolutely beautiful! It was so lovely to be up at the front seeing Natalie and Luke saying I do. Natalie also looked absolutely gorgeous and her and Luke both couldn’t stop beaming at each other. After cheering them back down the aisle, everyone made a tunnel out in the courtyard and grabbed a handful of confetti to throw and welcome them into their drinks reception.
Time for a drink…
The courtyard with the tree in the middle is just such a beautiful place for drinks. Plus the sun was shining for us which always helps. I had such a good time just minging and capturing lots of lovely candid shots during this time. I always say it’s a good idea to have 1.5 – 2 hours for a drinks reception. That gives you a good amount of time to say hello and to have drinks and canapes. As well as leaving enough time for group photos towards the end. People are a lot more relaxed after saying hi to their guests and having a drink for a bit.
Smile! You’re on camera
After taking a few photos with family and friends, I quickly nipped inside to get a few photos of the room at Merriscourt all set up for dinner and it looked gorgeous, along with the delicious cake by Kats Bakes. I loved the ‘Lobsters’ cake topper as well! While everyone got seated, we did a quick walk around Merriscourt and there’s such a wonderful variety of places to take photos – from the rolling hills and greenery, to the stone walls of the venue and I also really loved the cool metal containers they have on site too for some slightly different urban style vibes.
The BEST Speeches
The speeches – WOW! I absolutely loved hearing every single one. The best man was a definite highlight for me as he genuinely went full out and it was so hilarious. I actually had tears in my eyes from laughter along with the guests! He really didn’t hold back and dished all the dirt on Luke. There were also some beautiful and touching moments as well of course.
After dinner at this beautiful Merriscourt wedding in The Cotswolds
There was a delicious dinner, the food at Merriscourt is really really good. The sun was still shining and everyone came back into the courtyard to freshen up after dinner (and by freshen up, I mean… tequila shots?!) I haven’t done tequila in such a long time. It’s kind of nice being able to photograph people doing the shots without actually having to suffer it! We then all headed back into the main barn for the most epic first dance… I absolutely loved that Natalie and Luke had already choreographed it a bit and it was just SO FUN! Everyone went wild for it as well and it really kicked off the party and set the tone for the night.
Time to let loose!
I think after having to wait a couple of years for the day, everyone was just ready to let loose and really celebrate with Natalie and Luke. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of, thank you so much to Natalie and Luke for having me and letting me photograph your Merriscourt wedding!
