On a Tuesday morning in May I drove to a beautiful wedding with musical instruments on the ceiling! Jess and Jack’s epic wedding was at Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire! I was so excited as I had met Jess & Jack before on their pre-wedding shoot and we had such great fun. Doddington Hall is such a stunning venue and I was really excited to work here. Jess and Jack both work in music so they had really put their own stamp on the decorations. They had musical instruments hanging from the ceilings! Amazing. I also absolutely adored all the beautiful coloured ribbon on all the chairs. And the gorgeous flowers by Violet and Vine.
Jess got ready on site with her bridesmaids and Mum. The prosecco was flowing and lots of hair was being done by Studio 11 Hairdressing. Jess looked simply stunning in her dress and wore a big beautiful flower crown too. The ceremony room was beautiful, with the chairs draped in colourful ribbon. Jack was waiting nervously with his best man. Jess was walked down the aisle by her Grandad which was so sweet and emotional. There were a lot of tears!
They had some special readings read by both their Mums and it was so lovely to see them exchange their vows and rings. Jess and Jack’s close friend Joe Martin played guitar and sang while they signed the register which was beautiful. After the ceremony Jess and Jack led the way out to the main house and courtyard where everyone showered them with confetti. And of course they had some hugs and hellos.
The weather was actually so up and down the entire day but you would never know it! One minute it was pouring rain and all stormy and the next it was sunshine and blue skies. Luckily we used these little breaks throughout the drinks reception to go outside and do a few group shots. Then after dinner we had another beautiful sunny break where we walked around Doddington Hall and the grounds. I love that their dog Archie joined us for a few photos in the field as well – how adorable does he look with his little bow tie?!
I absolutely love how Jess and Jack chose to decorate the rooms at Doddington Hall. For the table plan they had potted flowers with the table numbers and used the ribbon on the chairs and the colourful pom poms hanging from the ceiling to add the real wow factor to the room! The hanging instruments were a lovely personal touch as well and something quite unique. Jess’ Grandad gave a lovely speech, as well as Jack and his Best Man before tucking into a gorgeous feast.
As I mentioned, Jess and Jack both work in music so of course this was such a big part of their day and they had hired The Mini Big Band to play the first dance and then into the evening and it was SO GOOD. They sounded incredible and everyone was on the dancefloor the entire time.
It was perfect timing for when they were about to take a short break, I excitedly told Jess and Jack there was a jaw dropping sunset happening round outside, which was amazing considering it had basically been raining all day! I always say you never know what can happen and this is definitely one of those instances – and what a golden hour! They’re some of my favourite photos from the day and it was totally worth nipping out for 5 minutes to get these. Thank you Jess and Jack for entrusting me to capture your Doddington Hall wedding and for being so brilliant!
