Wow, where to even begin with this crazy year! It is kind mad to think I was at wedding at the end of February with 120 people, and then another wedding at the beginning of March with 100 people, complete with a big ceilidh dance. It really does seem like a different lifetime and it feels strange to imagine being on a sweaty dancefloor with that many people right now!
However I was incredibly lucky in 2020 to photograph about 10 weddings, all of which were truly wonderful. They have been incredibly special and unique, all my couples have been so strong and resilient, especially as some of these lovely people you see below have postponed two, three, maybe even four times. So it’s been quite emotional really when we finally get to their special day. It was only looking back through these photos, that I feel really proud of the work I have done this year, even though it is a lot less than usual!
On a personal level it was, and still is, a bit of a rollercoaster as I’m sure it has been for everyone else. From about August onwards I was chasing after any vaccine news.
I basically became obsessed, and still am haha. It just felt like the only thing that was reminding me there was light at the end of the tunnel and a way out.
We was really lucky to be able to still be able to go on our trip to Scotland that we had booked at the beginning of the year. We hired a camper van and went up around Loch Lomond, Isle of Skye and also the Outer Hebrides. It was truly beautiful, if you follow me over on Instagram you might have seen some of the photos. A big achievement for us was climbing Ben Nevis, because that had been on our bucket list for ages and we had a great sunny day for it!
I really hope you enjoy all these photos and that they bring a smile to your face. Thank you so much to all my amazing couples for being so supportive and asking me to photograph your days, you are all truly wonderful.
Stunning photos! ❤️
