Getting married in the largest Royal Park in London

26th April 2023

Becky and Brendan were due to have their Pembroke Lodge wedding in 2020 but like many couples, had to postpone due to the pandemic. But boy oh boy was it worth the wait! They both got ready at the same hotel, so I popped along to see both of them getting ready which was really lovely. Brendan looked really dapper in his tuxedo and Becky looked phenomenal in her Kenneth Winston dress she got from Brides of York. I really loved the reveal to her bridesmaids, all of whom got very emotional and also her Dad coming and seeing the dress for the first time – so sweet!

I’d been wanting to photograph a Pembroke Lodge wedding for a long time, as I love Richmond Park and the whole venue is really gorgeous. The ceremony was a really special part of the day, with lots and lots of happy tears! Brendan’s reaction to Becky coming down the aisle was such a special moment. I absolutely LOVED that Becky and Brendan walked (well actually, I should say danced!) back down the aisle to Paul Simon’s ‘You Can Call Me Al’. At the same time they were being showered with confetti!

The drinks reception was absolutely lovely, with lots of hugs and mingling, we also took a few photos around Pembroke Lodge at the front of the house and some photos with their family and friends. The bridesmaids looked really stunning in lilac dresses and with classic white roses in their bouquets. And of course the boys looked really great as well!

Wedding photos in the largest Royal Park in London

Everything looked beautiful including the illustrated stationery by Creative Suzie. I loved the gin bottles on each table. Tonic water was given as favours so guests could sit down and make a G&T – brilliant idea! I also love that instead of a big cake, they opted for cupcakes!

After a delicious dinner, we nipped out for 10 minutes to see if we could grab a bit of golden hour. Photos of their wedding and of getting married in the largest Royal Park in London were incredible. It was quite cloudy until all of a sudden, a small gap appeared and the most incredible sunset burst through. I literally almost died of happiness haha! We were so lucky! It lasted for about 5 minutes and it broke through just when the sun was super low. Totally worth nipping out to get those as it was completely epic! It was also nice for Becky and Brendan to have a little walk and chat together by themselves.

Dancing the night away in the Richmond Park

We headed back for speeches and dancing, both of which were really brilliant. It’s safe to say Brendan’s best man absolutely smashed his speech and dug out some questionable photos of Brendan from the stag. The dance floor went off thanks to the awesome band, Motor City Revue. Becky and Brendan’s first dance was really sweet. I loved that Becky got to have a dance and a cuddle with her Grandad on the dancefloor too. The night ended exactly how it should, with a ton of shots and lots of boogying. Thank you so much Becky and Brendan for asking me to capture your beautiful Pembroke Lodge wedding. I’ll never forget it!
