I had been wanting to photograph a wonderful Humanist wedding like this at The Dreys wedding venue in Kent for a while and Julia and Jordan’s wedding was nothing short of epic! Julia got ready with her girls at the nearby Tudor Park Marriott hotel and we had a really relaxed lovely morning, with hair and make-up being done by the Beauty Ninjas.
When I arrived at The Dreys for this wonderful Humanist Wedding, I was totally taken aback! It is the most perfect woodland wedding venue in Kent. You walk down the trail, through trees, all lined with festoon lights, to reach the ceremony area. I also loved that Julia and Jordan had their greyhound Rosie as a big part of the day (along with some other doggy guests!) The outdoor ceremony area looked so rustic and pretty with all the flowers by Sue Davies Flowers. There were gorgeous pampas, rustic wooden chairs, boho style rugs and a huge flower arch.
The ceremony was amazing and was led by humanist celebrant Jane Blackman. Jane was incredible. I love a humanist wedding ceremony as we get to hear so much more about the couple and their story. I loved that the sun peeked through for some of it too. Jordan works in wine so it was only right that they had wine tasting at the end! Also, we need to shout out how gorgeous Julia looked. I love her dress as well which was from Grace loves Lace.
Ceremony Wine and cuddles with the dogs
After the ceremony it was time for hugs, wine and some photos and a few cuddles with all the dogs. I love the photo of Julia with Rosie during the drinks reception. Also the smell in the air was amazing. We could all smell BBQ coming from Up in my Grill was getting us all fired up for a feast! The backdrops at the Dreys are stunning, with lots of beautiful woodland around. The bridesmaids looked really lovely in their orange rust coloured dresses. I love this colour and orange / yellow in general.
Golden hour at this wonderful Humanist Wedding
We were also very lucky to grab a nice little bit of golden hour as well. The evening was a really fun one. Especially as The Dreys offers guests the opportunity to camp everyone was ready to let loose! One of Julia and Jordan’s friends had their campervan, and it just so happened that they had bought all the gear to do a beer bong and of course I happily obliged to document this! I may have had to climb up on top of the campervan as well to get those shots, but it was totally worth it.
Humanist wedding planners
I want to shout out to the Wedding Dolls who effortlessly helping Julia and Jordan to plan the their day. They made sure everything run smoothly behind the scenes on the day itself. The party was so much fun. I loved that the dogs were so involved and even made a small appearance on the dancefloor! Thank you so much Julia and Jordan for entrusting me to be your wedding photographer and for the most epic fun day!
Did you know that I also capture engagement shoots, offer pre-wedding photography and more!
