I had been wanting to photograph a stunning wedding like this at The Great Barn in Rolvenden for quite some time, so when Claire and Alex got in touch I was really really excited. Not only is the venue stunning but they are both such sweet and genuine people so it really was an absolute joy to capture their day.
A stunning bride
Claire got ready at their home with her bridesmaids and family, and who can forget their cat Socks! I seriously love him! I’m so pleased Claire got to have some photos with Socks as well! The girls all looked really beautiful, with make up done by Kate Glanfield. Claire looked stunning and her dress was ‘Jacenia’ by Ronald Joyce from Christina K Bridal Boutique. The girls then all travelled to the venue via campervans from Deluxe Wedding Cars. The campervans looked amazing, I love a VW camper so much!
A rustic and a stunning wedding ceremony
The ceremony was wonderful, with Claire walking down the aisle by both her parents. The barn is just one of the things which made this such a stunning wedding. It looked spectacular, really pretty and rustic. Alex also looked great in his suit from Slaters Menswear. It was a really sweet ceremony and Claire and Alex were beaming from ear to ear throughout. It was a beautiful day so afterwards it was outdoors for confetti and drinks. I should also mention how talented both Claire and Alex are, with Claire painting her leather jacket herself (which was absolutely beautiful), as well as her and Alex making a lot of the stuff themselves such as their neon sign (!) confetti, bunting and cake stand.
The stunning wedding barn
The barn looked really beautiful and was ready for dinner. Claire and Alex did a short welcome toast and said thank you before sitting down for dinner. I like this way of doing things if you aren’t too into the idea of traditional speeches. The food was all supplied by the amazing Touchays and all tasted delicious. I’ve been very lucky to work alongside Touchays a number of times and their food is always wonderful as are their staff. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a caterer! The wonderful bar was supplied by The Dawdling Duck and the cakes were all made by the talented, Claire Coleman, a friend of the bride & groom. Not to forget the beautiful flowers created by their friend Alice Hambly. Incredible!
After dinner around sunset time, we went into the fields to grab a few photos and also allowed Claire and Alex some time to wander round by themselves as well. Claire put on her jacket and looked super cool. I am definitely having a leather jacket when we get married.
Sunsets and The Indie Killers
After sunset photos and a bit more mingling, it was time for the evening and the party was off the charts! The Indie Killers were brilliant, I’ve been lucky enough to see these guys a handful of times and they always do a great job. The photo of Claire playing the guitar is one of my favourites! Thank you so much for having me guys, I’m so happy I got to be a part of your special day.
