Oh my goodness, where do I even start with Emily and Ollie?!? The one where they get married…I loved this part of the wedding! They had a stunning wedding at the Oak Barn Frame Farm in Kent and it was just wonderful. Emily & Ollie had been waiting for their day for such a long time, as they had had to postpone a few times due to the pandemic, and I am beyond happy that they finally got to have their wedding and what a beautiful day they had for it – the sun was shining and it was perfect. They are such lovely people and they totally deserved to have the day of their dreams. We have got to know each other pretty well over the years and we’re all big fans of the US Office, and Ollie maybe even did a little nod to the show in his speech!
The one where they get married…getting ready
Emily got ready at home with her bridesmaids and family. Her hair and make-up was by the ultimate glam supplier squad, Harriet Rainbow Make-Up, Bridal Hair and Make-Up Kent and Katerina Crouch Bridal. Harriet is actually doing my make-up for our wedding next year and I am so excited! Emily looked absolutely stunning and the make-up was so natural and beautiful. I also popped round to see Ollie and the boys, as they were only getting ready a few minutes drive away which was really nice!
Emily got into her dress which was from Christina K Bridal Boutique in Maidstone, and she really did look absolutely incredible. The girls were all travelling to the church in cool vintage style VW campervans from Retro Rides for Brides. So cool!! I arrived at the church a little earlier to photograph guests arriving and also Ollie waiting nervously! They had the ceremony at St George’s Church in Benenden and what a beautiful church it is. It really was such a special part of the day, Emily’s walk down the aisle was so lovely – and the vows in particular were really emotional! Emily was definitely fighting back lots of happy tears and it was so nice to see.
Emily and Ollie had got a ton of confetti (I always say you can never have enough!) for their entrance out of the church and it looked amazing. As they came to the end of the confetti line, their gorgeous doggy Merlin was waiting for them!!! He wasn’t coming for the whole day but their dog sitter managed to bring him along to say congrats and for lots of cuddles and attention from Emily and Ollie and also everyone else! After some hellos and hugs from everyone, we took a few family photos at the church and also a few with Merlin before he headed off!
Wedding motto…
The one where they get married..this was the perfect motto for the wedding. We then headed over to the Oak Barn, which was beautiful. Emily actually did all the stationery herself, such as the menus and illustrations on the table names – how amazing! Her business is Emily Smith Designs, so do check her out if you’re looking for beautiful stationery! Everything looked so rustic and pretty, with some beautiful furniture hired in from The Little Wedding Warehouse and a gorgeous hand drawn sign by Sophie Theobald Signs.
The amazing team at Home Gurrown were doing the catering. I’ve worked alongside Home Gurrown at a few weddings before and these canapes looked especially cool served in big wooden baskets. Emily and Ollie are also big fans of the tv show Friends, and I absolutely love the sign they had above their cake. “The one where they get married”. Also we can’t not mention the beautiful cake by Charlotte Reid Cake Design!
The drinks reception was so lovely! We were all out in the sunshine and the rolling hills. We took a couple more photos with family and friends. I especially love the photos of Emily with her bridesmaids – they all looked gorgeous in their pink gowns. I also loved the stunning flowers which were all done by the talented See Rose Floral Design.
Beautiful photos on a beautiful evening!
After a delicious dinner by Home Gurrown, we had some speeches which were just SO funny. There was a lot of teasing from Ollie’s Best Man about Ollie trying to get Emily’s attention on Facebook when they first met. And he dished out some of the things Ollie had wrote on Emily’s wall. Remember, when we actually used to write on people’s Facebook walls back in the day?! Haha
We had the most beautiful golden hour, so we went off into the fields to capture a few photos (and get photobombed by some sheep, but it totally works). I’m so happy we got a gorgeous sunset. Emily and Ollie really deserved to have the best day with lovely weather after having to postpone so many times. It was truly worth the wait. They a big sparkler tunnel leading back up to the main barn to signal the party starting – it looked amazing! The band for the evening were The Violet Jive and they were really, really brilliant! It was a super fun party, with perhaps a few too many red wine stains on the bridesmaids. But it was all a sign of a good time. Emily and Ollie, a million thank yous for asking me to capture your epic wedding day! The one where they get married..
