Bantham Bash Field Wedding: Tamsin and Ollie

29th May 2026

Tamsin and Ollie had the most epic Bantham Bash Field wedding in Devon on a sunny bank holiday in May. I’m still so beyond honoured they asked me to capture it for them. From a village church ceremony in Thurlestone, to the incredible seaside views of Bantham Bash Field, their day truly was amazing from start to finish.

I absolutely love a seaside wedding. I’m one of those people that as soon as they get to the sea, they question why they don’t live there? But, I do wonder if it would lose its charm if you had it there all the time? Anyway, when Tamsin mentioned they were planning on doing a sunrise sea swim at 6:30am, I told her I would start my day there too. Don’t worry, in no way did Tamsin say I should start that early! But I could not resist joining as I thought it would be so fun to capture the swim and a great way to start the day off. It was an absolutely glorious morning and I love the photos! It was totally worth the early wake up call!

Getting ready for a village church ceremony at Thurlestone

After we had dried off, I said to Tamsin I’d be back around 10am to capture some getting ready photos. The girls had such a lovely relaxed morning with the glam being provided by Sophie Jarvis and Just Josie. I also popped over to see Ollie and the boys getting ready. We got a few photos of them getting all dapper and having a cheeky swig of whisky.

Tamsin’s friend, Laura, also made her dress from scratch, how incredible is that? Laura now runs her own wedding dress business, March Bridal. Tamsin looked truly stunning and I love that she could remove the sleeves if she wanted to. I also absolutely adored the choice for the bridesmaid dresses which were a burnt orange. The girls and their dresses looked so stunning against the blue sea backdrop!

The girls walked down to the church, while Tamsin hitched a ride. Ollie was waiting patiently at the little village church in Thurlestone. It was such a beautiful ceremony. Everyone was in such good spirits! Afterwards, we had heaps of colourful confetti to shower them with. It was brilliant!! After some quick hugs, we descended on the local village pub for a quick tipple – I absolutely loved this idea. We also snuck Tamsin and Ollie off to the beach for a quick 5 minutes, it just had to be done. The beach at Thurlestone is really beautiful, with the gorgeous blue sea and striking rock structure. I really want to come back here for a holiday!

Heading up to Bantham Bash Field for drinks, dinner and partying

After the beach, it was time to head up to continue the wedding at Bantham Bash Field, which has the most stunning sea views. Drinks were starting to flow and fresh oysters were beginning to be dished out by Oyster Meister. Tamsin and Ollie then arrived in the Land Rover to huge applause and just all round party vibes with everyone cheering them. I absolutely loved the drinks reception up here, it was really fun and had such a great atmosphere. The marquee was decorated beautifully with a variety of candles and pops of colour from flowers in bud vases. And of course some hanging disco balls to bring the party element! The marquee was provided by the lovely team at Hatch Marquee Hire. Tamsin’s beautiful bouquet and the rest of the flowers were done by the lovely Caroline Hodges Flowers

Group photos, speeches and the most gorgeous sunset

It was then time for some group photos with their family and friends, which we made really fun and relaxed – the backdrop of the sea and Thurlestone bay was such a perfect spot for it. We then headed into the marquee for dinner, a delicious feast provided by Kit and Kee. The speeches were totally wonderful and quite emotional. I never ever tire of hearing speeches, it’s one of my favourite parts of the wedding day.

After dinner, the sun was setting slowly and it was honestly magical. The views were breathtaking and it just felt so special. It was then time for the ice cream van to serve us all a sweet treat (which you bet I indulged)! As well as some fabulous saxophone by Oleg Zaremskyi, it was such a vibe! We then waited for the perfect time to take some golden hour photos. This was one of my favourite parts of the day as the light was beyond perfect!

Once the sun had set, they had their first dance and the party truly kicked off. It was a brilliant party as well. Tamsin and Ollie and their family and friends had so much fun, and I had the best time photographing it. I also wanted to give a huge shout out to Hugh from Flow Motion Studios who did the videography (and did such a fabulous job) for being so wonderful to work with. If you’re after more fun and epic wedding inspiration, check out my other recent blog post for Sophie and Rob here.

Tamsin and Ollie, thank you for being the most fun and kind couple to photograph and for entrusting me to capture your Bantham Bash Field wedding. I had the absolute best time ever!
