I was so excited when Lesley and Matt invited me to be a part of their colourful and fun High Billinghurst Farm wedding in Surrey! It was a wonderfully relaxed day, with lots of lovely people, cake and dancing!
They held their humanist ceremony underneath this big beautiful tree. They opted for a humanist ceremony because they wanted something personal to them both. Their celebrant was the fabulous Holly June Smith. It was a really sweet and intimate ceremony, and it was lovely to hear all about their relationship so far. They passed the rings around all their guests for a blessing which was really nice. And hearing them say their personal vows to each other was so wonderful – there was a lot of laughter and also happy tears!
After the ceremony it was time for drinks, picnic baskets and ice cream! It was so relaxing to see everyone just throw down a blanket with their food and drinks in the sun.
In between, there was some speeches and then some photos. The cake table was amazing. Lesley and Matt asked their guests to make cakes and sweet treats bake off style, so everyone turned up with a little something. Plus it meant that you could have a mix and match of different cakes! The afternoon was so relaxing and there was lots of little games to keep the kids (and also the adults) amused!
Then it was time for the first dance and ceilidh! It was lots of fun and they’re always really great to photograph! It’s a sure way to get everyone up on the dancefloor. The delicious evening food was served by The Frying Squad! So yummy! Just what people needed before getting sweaty with the ceilidh! We was very lucky to get a gorgeous sunset, so we headed out into the field for 10 minutes before back in for more dancing! Thanks Lesley and Matt for the most wonderful day! If you’re having a High Billinghurst Farm wedding I’d love to hear from you!
