Clare and Sam had two weddings. The first was an intimate ceremony at Islington Town Hall on a weekday with just 8 people, including themselves. Their second wedding was on a family farm in the beautiful countryside just outside of Cambridge. They wanted to have a relaxed, laid-back and fun wedding with an outdoor ceremony. However the family farm wasn’t licensed for marriage, so instead they had their ‘official’ intimate ceremony at Islington Town Hall and then their wedding day the following weekend on the farm. Clare had booked me in to capture the festivities on the farm, although she asked me if I’d also come along to capture their ceremony at Islington Town Hall.
I arrived at the town hall and met Sam, who was waiting for everyone else to arrive – looking really dapper and with a beautiful bunch of flowers in hand. A couple of minutes later, Clare arrived, in a gorgeous red polka dot dress and with the hugest smile on her face. I absolutely love these two – they’re seriously such happy, wonderful people to be around and Clare is one of those people whose smile and laughter is infectious – when you’re around her and Sam you just end up having such a good time. And you can tell they’re just so happy together as well.
Their parents and good friends arrived shortly after and we then made our way upstairs. The ceremony itself was so lovely. Really special, very relaxed, a lot of giggles and a few happy tears. I remember coming out the ceremony and just feeling so happy and also grateful that Clare had asked me to be a part of it. We then hung about outside the town hall for a little while doing some photos and then walked down to Angel for lunch. It really was such a lovely afternoon. I absolutely loved it and it was so special getting to be a part of it.
I will also be blogging part 2, so you can check out their fun outdoor tipi wedding here tomorrow!
