A unique & relaxed wedding in East London

30th May 2023

Beth and Oscar had a unique & relaxed wedding in East London at Islington Town Hall before heading to The Depot pub in N7 for a big knees up with their nearest and dearest! Both Beth and Oscar got ready at their home not far from the town hall. It was an absolutely glorious sunny Spring morning and we got such lush weather all day!

It was a relaxed morning with people having coffees and chatting. Some hair and make-up was being done, as well as the gorgeous flowers being delivered by Sweet Pea Rosa. We then piled into taxis to get to Islington Town Hall. One of my favourite moments was Beth’s dad had loads of mints which everyone kept asking for. He was on hand with an important job – mints and also walking Beth up the aisle! Beth looked really stunning and elegant in her dress, and I also loved that the bridesmaids were wearing dark green – I feel like I don’t see this colour very often and it looked great!

You are now husband and wife!

The ceremony was really sweet. I loved that Beth & Oscar did a first bump in the air after the ceremony. The room and building at Islington Town Hall is really gorgeous. It is without a doubt one of my favourite town halls in London.

Beth and Oscar are such sweet and chilled out people, and it was such a pleasure to witness them tie the knot. We took a few photos around the town hall in their beautiful corridors (a must!). And then it was time for confetti, hugs and a few photos on the steps.

I absolutely love this part just after the ceremony, when everyone is having lots of hugs. There’s always so many smiles and it’s a great opportunity for me to capture lovely shots of everyone. Once we were all finished at the town hall, we all jumped on the red London routemaster to head to The Depot in N7.

A unique & relaxed wedding reception

The Depot looked so cosy and rustic and I can’t not mention the amazing cake by Lucy Burton Cakes. I really do love a London pub wedding! After dinner (The Depot do really great food) it was time for a speech and toast from Beth and Oscar. I really like that they stood up together, it was a really nice way to do it. There were some more guests to arrive for the evening, before the dancefloor was kicked off by The Spin Sisters. It was a really, really fun night.

For me a definite highlight was Oscar dancing to ‘What’s Luv’ by Fat Joe and Ashanti. If you’d asked me that morning what song Oscar would be dancing the most to, I wouldn’t have guessed that one!! Thank you so much for having me Beth and Oscar. It was so much fun to be a part of your London pub wedding at The Depot!
