I was so so excited when Celia and Richard got in touch about their Auvergne Rhone Alpes wedding – I had always wanted to photograph a wedding in the mountains! I can safely say it was nothing short of epic. Celia got ready at her Grandma’s house in Voiron, having her hair and make up done with her bridesmaids while her Mum and Gran decorated the wedding car – a white Fiat 500! So cool!
Celia arrived outside the church with her sunglasses on and a beaming smile, and wow the church itself was just INCREDIBLE. It was so huge and beautiful inside, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The ceremony was so wonderful, lots of smiles, singing and it was so lovely watching them exchange their vows.
Afterwards it was time for a shed load of confetti, then everyone drove up into the mountains to Celia’s parents house for drinks, dinner and party time! There was lots of time for chatting, canapés and of course many people in total awe of the magnificent views! How amazing that Celia’s parents get to see that view from their house, hey?
Some of my favourite photos from the day are of the party, which was pretty crazy and so much fun! They had a ceilidh to kick things off, then partying until the early hours when some freshly baked and warm Pain au Chocolat were delivered from the local bakery at 4:30am (Yes, the party was still going on then!) It’s safe to say everyone was very excited those arrived and it was some much needed drunken fuel and a perfect way to end the night! Thanks so much Celia and Richard for inviting me to be a part of your wedding and letting me capture it for you.
