This is part one of Anna and Dan’s epic intimate wedding at the beautiful Town Hall! They decided to split their wedding over two days. The first day being an intimate wedding at Islington Town Hall then onto the Drapers Arms pub. I absolutely love Anna and Dan, we had such a great time getting to know each other on the pre-wedding shoot (and bonding over our love of crisps, and what were our top tier crisps). I knew that both their wedding days were going to be brilliant. They also gave me massive inspiration for our own wedding and having it set over two days.
A photographers dream!
An Islington Town Hall wedding is always an absolute joy to photograph and I love working there. The building is lovely (with that famous corridor we photographers love) and the surrounding area and streets are great. I met Dan and his groomsmen at a pub just up the road, having some beer to help those pre-wedding nerves. We then walked down to Islington Town Hall and I waited around for Anna to arrive. Anna looked simply radiant in her dress by Lucy Martin Bridal, with her hair and make up by Alyse Baker Artistry. Plus she just looked so happy and excited!
A beautiful ceremony at Islington Town Hall
Anna walked down the aisle with her Mum and her brother. Whilst Dan was really quite emotional when she came to join him. It was so sweet! They had a couple of special readings read by their Mums, and then exchanged their rings. They couldn’t stop beaming the whole time and neither could I! After walking back down the aisle, they had some big hugs with their family. We took a few photos in the town hall while everyone headed out onto the steps before showering them with confetti.
The sun came for this intimate wedding at the beautiful town hall
The steps outside the town hall are really lovely for photos so we did a few group photographs here in the sunshine. It was such a sunny and gorgeous day! The Drapers Arms pub is only a 5 minute walk from Islington Town Hall and is such a nice rustic pub. I’ve had the pleasure of going here a couple of times and I really like it. Everyone walked from Islington Town Hall up to the pub. I grabbed a few snaps of Anna and Dan as they led the way. I also must mention Anna’s beautiful bouquet which was by the girls at Fori Floral Studio. It was so stunning!
Let’s go to the pub…
The Drapers Arms looked lovely! They had the upstairs room ready for dinner dressed with the flowers and some other gorgeous detailing such as candles and rustic napkins. There were drinks on arrival at The Drapers Arms and canape style snacks which was a really nice opportunity to capture everyone enjoying themselves and chatting. After a little while, we all headed upstairs ready for some speeches. These were an absolute highlight for me. I loved hearing more about Anna and Dan and their journey together as a couple. And I really adore the photo of Anna listening to her Mum’s speech with such an emotional look.
The best wedding speeches!
I think it’s actually one of my favourite speech photos ever! We heard from Anna’s Mum, Dan, Anna’s brother and then lastly Dan’s Dad Kev and they were all completely wonderful. It felt really special and intimate being able to have their ceremony celebrations with their close family and taking the pressure off before having a big knees up a few days later. Thank you and Anna and Dan for entrusting me to capture your brilliant London town hall wedding!
