It’s time for Anna and Dan’s wedding part two – an epic intimate wedding party!!! Where do I even begin with this day?! It was just so much fun from start to finish. In case you didn’t see it, Anna and Dan had a two day celebration with their ceremony a few days before at Islington Town Hall and the Drapers Arms in London, which you can view here. They then wanted to have a big celebration a few days later, with everyone they knew, but this time with the pressure off and just pure party vibes. Which they absolutely succeeded at, it was such a good night!
Let the epic intimate wedding party begin…
I arrived at Anna’s Mum’s house to capture the guests arriving and also the wonderful set up for dinner inside the gorgeous yurt provided by Cheltenham Yurt Hire. Inside it looked so beautiful with the tables set up, with all of the origami made by Anna – how amazing! The way Anna and Dan had their wedding over two days was amazing. They kept the second day super relaxed with a drinks reception, food and a big party. It was such a perfect way to do it. As guests arrived and grabbed some drinks and canapes, we were entertained by magician Harry De Cruz who was incredible! I love magicians at weddings and some of the tricks he did were absolutely mind blowing. I got some great reaction shots to some of the magic!
How to dress for an epic intimate wedding party
Anna wore her dress again from Lucy Martin Bridal, while Dan opted for a colourful shirt (actually Anna’s Dad’s shirt) which was a really sweet and sentimental nod to him. The rest of the guys had also been advised to go bold and colourful with their shirts! We did a few group photos with their friends, before heading inside the yurt. When everyone sat down, it was time to start some speeches – and what brilliant speeches they were! So so funny, Dan’s friends really really terrorised him and there were also some lovely emotional moments. But most importantly, you could tell everyone in the room was just absolutely delighted to be there with them and support them. The laughter and cheers were so loud!
Dancing through dinner
A delicious feast was served by the Dinner Ladies and the food was wonderful – so tasty! During dinner there was the most fantastic mariachi band singing for us. They performed covers such as Sweet Caroline, getting everyone to sing and dance along. It really kept up the party atmosphere throughout dinner! After dinner, it was time for the most epic party to begin and well… I think the photos speak for themselves right? We had great fun thanks to the band Mojo Mojo. Anna changed into a different dress ready to boogie – I loved her friends’ reactions when she came back into the yurt in the new dress!
There’s a lot of party shots included here because I have so many favourites! Can you also spy a shot of me in there? Dan’s Dad Kev said we needed a selfie so we gave it our best go! There was also some late night snackage in the form of cheese on toast – delicious! Cheese on toast on a dance floor is a great combo! It really was the most epic and brilliant night. I stayed until the end and for the last song, everyone gathered in a circle and Anna and Dan had a dance in the middle. Thank you Anna and Dan for entrusting me to capture both your special days. I genuinely felt on top of the world driving home.
